When placing the Protec in your horses mouth, the key element to a good fit is to make sure that the patches are placed in such a way that the loose piece is resting agains the teeth in the back, see image right next to this text.

Start with putting the bridle and bit in, do not fasten the nose-band before putting the Protec in. Slowly put the Protec into the mouth under the bit and let it align with the gums so that the patch is resting against the back teeth. When it is in, fasten the nose-band so that the bridle and Protec eill stay in place.
